Ice Cream in Chestnut Hill

It has been hot in Pennsylvania.
Really hot.

And hot is a really good reason to stop for some ice cream.

This family owned  ice cream parlor
is located in Chestnut Hill in Philadelphia.

This parlor serves Bassett's Ice Cream...
which is a Philadelphia hometown ice cream.
(Kind of like Tasty Cakes, Cheese Steaks and Soft Pretzels.)
I LOVE Bassett's Ice Cream,
but you can't find it everywhere.
You have to know where to buy it.
My favorite flavor is Raspberry Truffle.
Mmmmmmm.....delicious.
But unfortunately,
this little shop doesn't carry Raspberry Truffle.
I had to make do with another flavor.

My favorite thing about that ice cream shop isn't the Bassett ice cream....it is that awesomly cool bench that sits outside :)

Oh, this sounds great. I love raspberry anything. I'm beginning to think that Philly is a place for foodies. I buy Philadelphia cream cheese all of the time.! And yeah...philly steaks...now ice cream? It's all comfort food!

Even a cone of vanilla would taste good right about now.

Oops. I forgot about the 'blues' part. I apologize for linking. I have never been much of an ice cream person but any mention of something raspberry has me drooling.

That ice cream parlor looks so nice. With the blue window sheds.
