A LIttle Talk With the Gardener

A Little Talk With the Gardener
Ambler, PA

A long time ago
I was drooling over my husband's old boots
to use as garden planters.
It was one of those crazy ideas I saw in a magazine
and today would have pinned on Pinterest.

I nagged him for those boots.

When Christmas came,
I had a great idea:
I would give him new boots
so I could inherit the old boots.

Guess what he gave me that same Christmas....
All wrapped up with a pretty bow were his old boots.
Hilarious.

From the looks of the boots in the garden,
I think it's time for him to get new boots again.

Awww, what a sweet thing you both did! Reminds me of a book or movie I once read where one sells his guitar to buy her a hairbrush for her long hair and then she sells her hair to buy his guitar strings. That's true love :)

OH, this post is FABULOUS. I too, have had some history with *boot planters* in the garden but your tale is hilarious ... well done!
Stopping by via Kim's Friday group - glad I did ;>]

I LOVE this story. Too bad Christmas isn't approaching.

Reminds me of the Gift of the Magi story. Too cute! We put Shane's old work boots on the fence line -- he goes thru one pair a year. :)

Cute story about how you and your husband were on the "same page" about those boots. ;))

Sounds like it was a win, win situation! Fun. I'm sure you have fun memories every time you look at them. Thanks for sharing with Share Your Cup.

A lovely story. And what a great incentive to give each other boots and shoots in the future. I love the picture.
