Savoring Fun Times

I am savoring this last year
before the nest empties
and my youngest heads off to college.
(Am I really that old?)

I'm not sure what he'll do all year
since his besties are all going off to college this fall.
(I certainly don't feel that old.)

I have a feeling it will be a long year for him
and a quick year for me.
(You know, 'cause time flies when you're old.)

So days like this one are definitely to be savored...
by both of us.

You might remember this foursome
from the prom photos I've shared over the past two years.
They're still hanging together.

It's especially hard when the last one leaves the nest! Been there, done that. ;)

Awesome captures, looks like lots of fun!! As for the empty nest, mine has been empty for years and I love it. Naps whenever you want and almost no laundry!! Dinners out, travel anytime you want.....need I go on!! Honestly, it pretty darn awesome!!

Ah, to be young again and have the world at your doorstep! Savor this last year with your handsome son, but I can assure you, it only gets better watching them start their new adventures knowing you played the biggest part in moving them forward in life. The empty nest is hard for about 3 months. Then you start to realize how hard you used to work and how peaceful life can be. You are as young as you feel. (Mother of 4 grown) xo Karen

I remember when hubby and I were new empty nesters. At first it was hard. The house seemed way too quiet. Now we love it! lol! Fabulous pictures! Savor the fun for sure! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
