A New Season

I fretted.
I fumed.
I brooded.
I agonized.
I moped.
My Soccer Boy was going to college.

But now I am
On the go.
Engrossed.
Occupied.
Active.
Engaged.
My Soccer Boy is at college.

Being without a kid at home
makes me wonder
how I ever had the time to have a kid at home.

The basement's been full of projects
waiting for time...
Well, I finally found the time.
Now I wonder how I will ever finish all these projects
before said time runs out.

Photos from the Arboretum at Penn State.
We wandered through this lovely place
while waiting for Soccer Boy to rub the sleep from his tired eyes
so we could take him out to lunch.
After all, there is only so much solitude a mom can take
before needing to hear Soccer Boy say, "Hey Mom..."

Enjoyed your post on thoughts. Life is definitely different without a child at home!

Your photos are amazing!!!! Beautiful! It's so hard when they leave home, isn't it!? I hated it so much when our daughter did, and now she is a Mom and lives a mile away. :-)

What lovely photos! I'm sure you'll eventually find things to occupy your time with your empty nest. Now is a new chapter so make it grand!

So I really think these pictures deserve to be on notecards. Move over Hallmark for sure! #3 is also my favorite. Perhaps you should add a retail line of "stationary" to that basement-project list. I would buy for sure!!!
