Arriving in San Diego
the week leading up to Day of the Dead
had never crossed my mind.
But that is what I did - inadvertently.
Being from the Northeast
I had no idea how BIG
Day of the Dead is in Southwest Cali.
It's Big.
Balboa Park, San Diego, California
Now that the celebrations are over,
it is time to head back east to the living.

Colorful and exciting!
This is so beautiful!
That would have been fun!
So full of life - or is that an oxymoron?
I wasn't anticipating people dressed so colorfully for the Day of the Dead.
Love the color and the motion of the skirt! Thanks for sharing at Song-ography...safe travels!
Cool pic! Love the bright red and the smiles-in-spite-of-the-skeleton faces!
ohhh, I bet it made for a very colorful visit and experience.
What a lovely celebration this must have been. The dancers seem very exuberant.
Great action photo. I also love the costumes. Looks like fun!
