The Hurricane

The hurricane,
named Sandy came our way
and being near Halloween it has been called
Frankenstorm.

It is windy,
but I have certainly seen windier.
It is rainy,
but I have certainly seen rainier.
But then, the storm is not over yet
so who knows what will happen.
I am writing this Monday night,
by the time you read this we will probably be cleaning up branches.

I am just thankful I do not live in a low lying area.
We do not typically have to worry about flooding.
What a relief.
But we do usually have tall trees that fall due to wind damage.
We still have concerns about that.

Pretty much everything has been shut down for two days.
Schools, airports, public transportation, shopping...
We are pretty much housebound waiting to see what comes our way.
Looking for things to do...anything to do.

They say rainy Mondays are the worst...
but something about this one seems exceptional.

I got the impression that your state might be being hit pretty hard from the noon news, but maybe you're in an area that will avoid major damage. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

I hope you have weathered the storm and no real damage has been done where you live. Stay safe. I'll be thinking about you.

I hope you stayed safe and without too much damage. Seems to have hit some places worse, from what I've been able to pick up from the news here.
