Suburban Girl's Sweet Indulgence

Every once in awhile
I need a sweet indulgence.

My recent go to sweet indulgence
has been mini morsel scones.
You can whip these puppies up
faster than it takes your oven to heat up to temp.

Then when they are baked
enjoy them with a cup of tea.

Mini Morsel Scones
Preheat oven to 400°F  (200°C).
In large bowl combine
2 cups flour (280 g)
1/3 cup sugar (70 g)
1 tablespoon baking powder (12 g)
1/2 cup mini chocolate morsels (90 g)
1 1/4 cup heavy cream (350 g)

I mix it all together with a wooden spoon
then turn it out onto a floured surface.
I knead it a few times with floured hands until it is well combined.
Next I form it into 2 balls
then press each down to form the dough into the shape of a circles
about 3/4" thick.
I cut the dough with a pizza cutter
and place them on a baking pan.

Bake on the middle rack for 12-15 minutes.

If mini morsels are not your thing you can substitute
for whatever is your thing.
My husband's thing is dried cranberries
but there will be no cranberries in my scones.

I confess....I've never had scones before, that I know of. I think the closest I've come to it is a Bo Berry biscuit from Bojangles. HaHa! I must try your recipe.

I tried a recipe for scones this morning...chocolate chip/blueberry...unfortunately didn't write down the blogger who posted it. They were scrumptious.

These look delicious and just my kind of thing. Thank you for the recipe. I wonder dried cranberries with mini morsels, I like both.

These look very tasty. I've never had a scone before. Are they crispy, or soft like a cookie? I have a sweet tooth every single day which I really need to curb. I've already had an apple turnover today.
